The new interface for Avast is well laid out, with a clear demarcation between its various elements as well as easy-to-use blue icons (with orange accents derived from the logo of the company) to www.antivirus-software.org/pc-matic-review highlight the suite’s capabilities. On the homepage, you can perform an examination, activate the VPN and get shortcuts to a variety of less-than-useful tools for optimizing your system. However the fact that the majority of the other features offered by Avast are hidden under the “Explore” tab is somewhat disconcerting.
Installation is straightforward, and you’re not pushed into a free version, but a full scan can detect “advanced issues” that can only be resolved by paying for premium security. This is a little sneaky. Particularly when you click on the Resolve button and are directed to a page where you are asked to sign up for Avast Premium security. Avast also sells user data as revealed in a report from 2020 by Which? magazine.
